Department of Rift Corrections Charter
Mission Statement

The guild’s name, Department of Rift Corrections/Ootini, is meant to be a fun play on the word Dork (DORC), as well as admitting our united nerdiness (Ootini).

Department of Rift Corrections will be known as a Rifting Guild, a guild designed to take advantage of the unique content offered by RIFT, from Invasions, World Events, Rift Raids, PvP and beyond, in a fun, social and casual atmosphere.
Ootini will be the main guild for the upcoming Star War: The Old Republic MMORPG. Similar to DoRC, Ootini will be geared toward enjoying the grand adventure that will be the highly anticipated game, while still fostering a casual, social guild.
RIFT and SWTOR are, more than just video games. They are also a social community, a place to adventure, find excitement, and escape reality with your friends and comrades. We strive as a guild to foster an environment where our members feel like they have a home and family. This translates to respect, not only in guild interactions, in planned events, but also across all of Telara, and the Galaxy beyond. All members encourage and respect others, whether or not they are in the guild. The guild encourages all its members to promote the guild in a positive manner, whether through action, discussion, or presentation

Guild Management and Structure

Guild Member Structure
  1. Ranks
    1. Guild Leaders – The Guild Leaders manage the guild as a whole. Their jobs are to ensure that the heart, soul, and reputation of the guilds are upheld. They make decisions that affect the guilds as a whole, and that encourage growth and opportunity. They are both in charge of managing guild events, as well as assisting those events wherever and however possible. They understand that decisions they make, may not always be popular at first, but they are done in the best interest of the guild as whole. They will also convey the reasoning behind their decision to all members so that they can understand the purpose for the decision.
    2. Officer – Officers will have specific roles, whether it's running planned events, managing the guild bank, or anything else that require one or two people to manage on a regular basis. Officers are also responsible for dispute resolution, and helping the Guild Leaders come to a fair and just solution
    3. Members – Combined with the Initiates, this rank represents the body of the guild. Without the members the guild could not survive. It is through this rank that the guild is represented and our goals achieved. Members are members who have proven themselves trustworthy to gain the benefits of guild membership, such as access to the guild bank, guild repairs, etc.
    4. Initiate – The newbies to the guild. The first rank you achieve when you join DoRC/SWTOR. An Initiate will become a member once they have past their initiation period.

  2. All new guild members start at Initiate. After a reasonable probationary period is over, they can be promoted to member.
  3. Guild Decisions
    1. The Guild Leaders makes all decisions as seen fit for the betterment of the guild. They will consult with the Officers to provide feedback on their decisions before they are put into effect and presented to the guild.
    2. Officers will make all decisions as it related to the Planned Events or their Members. They shall consult the Guild Leader only when unsure if the decision is correct. Decision to invite to guild, promote or demote is for the Officers to decide. Decision to remove from guild can only be done with the approval of a Guild Leader..

  4. Discipline
    1. Enforcement of the code of conduct is every guild member’s responsibility. Discipline actions will be handled by the available Officers at the time of any breach on the code.
    2. Enforcement of the code of conduct is every guild member’s responsibility. Discipline actions will be handled by the available Officers at the time of any breach on the code.
    3. Any disputes or disagreements that cannot be handled civilly and in private should be brought to the attention of an Officer immediately so that it can be resolved quickly.
    4. Matters not brought up to an appropriate Officer cannot be handled properly. If the Officers do not know that something is wrong because it is being kept hidden, then there is nothing they can do to fix the problem.
    5. It is the job of the Members to convey to the officers any concerns that affect the guild so that they may be dealt with properly.
    6. Guild Members who violate the code of conduct can be placed on probation by reducing their rank to Initiate (or lower). Repeated offenses, or gross breaches of the code of conduct will result in loss of guild membership.
